What changed, in plain language

xHamster expanded one line in its privacy policy about the tool that lets you create accounts on other websites. It now says those linked accounts can share messaging features too — meaning your private messages, your username, and message details can be shown on the other website for people to see there.

DATA SHARING

If you used xHamster's tool to make an account on another site, the messages you send or receive can now be handed to that other site and displayed there, along with your username and details about the message. Messages you thought were private between you and one other person could end up visible on a website you never chose to post on, run by a company with its own rules. On an adult site, that kind of exposure can be especially damaging.

personal messages sent or received through your account, together with the associated usernames and message details, may be displayed on the third-party platform(s) and viewed there

What you can do — Check your account settings for any accounts you created on partner sites through xHamster and unlink or delete the ones you do not use. Until you know exactly which sites are connected, treat anything you send in messages as something that could be shown publicly, and avoid sending photos, real names, or contact details.

Changelog

  1. ± CHANGEDLinked accounts on other sites can now show your private messages

Before, the policy said that if you used xHamster's tool to create an account on a partner site, your personal info would be shared just to set up that account. Now it also says the linked accounts can share features like messaging — and that messages you send or receive, along with your username and message details, may be displayed on the other site and read there.
