Wordwall Terms of Use

DATED 2026-08-12 · VERSION 20260812_rev01 · FIRST CAPTURED VERSION

What changed, in plain language

Wordwall renamed its "Price Testing" section to "Pricing and Taxes" and added two new clauses about taxes. Prices shown don't include taxes, and taxes get added at checkout based on where you live. Taxes also apply to every renewal, and the tax rate can change between payments — so the total you're charged for a renewal may be higher than what you paid the first time. Wordwall says a tax change doesn't count as a price change, which means they don't have to give you notice about it. The effective date moved from 12 December 2025 to 12 August 2026.

Changes that may affect you

Your renewal charge can go up without it counting as a price increaseMATERIAL
BILLING & RENEWAL

Wordwall now says that if the tax in your area changes, your renewal bill changes too — and they don't consider that a price change. That wording matters: any notice or consent rules that would normally apply to a price increase won't kick in for a tax change. So the amount taken from your card on renewal can be higher than last time with no warning. The underlying tax is set by your government, not by Wordwall, which limits how much extra they can take this way, but you still bear the difference.

Taxes are applied to every payment, including renewals, based on the rules in your location at the time. This means the tax on a renewal may differ from your first payment, changing the total charged. A change in tax is not a change to the price.

What you can do — Check the exact total on your renewal receipt rather than assuming it matches your first payment, and cancel before the renewal date if the new total isn't worth it to you.

OTHER

The price you see while browsing plans is now explicitly before tax. The real amount you pay only shows up at checkout, so the plan may cost more than the headline figure suggested — how much more depends on where you live.

Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may add any taxes required by the law in your location, calculated at checkout.

What you can do — Read the final total on the checkout page before confirming payment, not the price on the plans page.

    ## 17\. Pricing and Taxes

  3. + ADDEDPrices now stated as excluding tax

New clause says the prices you see don't include tax. Wordwall adds whatever tax your location requires, and you only see the final amount at checkout.

17.2 Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may add any taxes required by the law in your location, calculated at checkout.

  4. + ADDEDTax added to every renewal, and can change between payments

New clause says tax is charged on every payment including renewals, using the tax rules in place at that time. If tax rates change, your renewal total can be different from your first payment. Wordwall states this is not treated as a price change.

17.3 Taxes are applied to every payment, including renewals, based on the rules in your location at the time. This means the tax on a renewal may differ from your first payment, changing the total charged. A change in tax is not a change to the price.
