Four weeks is 28 days, which is shorter than almost every calendar month. If you are on a monthly plan, you can expect about 13 charges over a year instead of 12, and your billing date will keep sliding earlier on the calendar. This matters for cancelling too: the same section says you must cancel before the plan automatically renews, and that Gannett does not give credits, refunds, or prorated billing if you cancel in the middle of a period. So the deadline to cancel without paying for another period arrives sooner than a calendar month would suggest.
“The subscription term for annual subscriptions is 1 year and the subscription term for monthly subscriptions is 4 weeks.”
What you can do — Check your card or bank statement for the actual charge dates and count how often you are billed. If you plan to cancel, contact customer service before the next 4-week term renews — there is no partial refund once a new period starts.
