What changed, in plain language

Twitch added a new way it can use your personal information: training and building AI, including Amazon's generative AI models. Everything else in this update is a typo fix.

Twitch expanded what it can do with the information it already collects about you. Now that information can be fed into machine learning and generative AI systems, and the notice points to Amazon's AI development page — which suggests the data can be used for Amazon's AI work, not only Twitch's. The notice does not describe any way to say no or opt out, and it does not spell out which of your data (chat messages, streams, viewing habits, support messages) is included. Once data is used to train a model, it is very hard to pull back out.

and to test and improve technology, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to support and enhance the customer experience across our products and services. This includes using data to develop or deploy our generative AI models and services.

What you can do — Read Amazon's linked "Generative AI Development Disclosure" page to see what it covers, then check your Twitch privacy and data settings for any AI or personalization toggles. If you want out, ask Twitch support or its privacy team directly whether an opt-out exists for your account, and be more careful about what personal details you put in streams and chat.
