Terms of Use

MATERIAL
DATED 2026-08-18 · VERSION 20260819_rev01 · COMPARED WITH 20230501_rev01

What changed, in plain language

T-Mobile refreshed its website Terms of Use for the first time since 2013. Most of the changes are cleanup, but a few matter: the rules about what you can post got longer and now cover AI-generated content, T-Mobile explicitly reserved the right to take down or refuse your posts, and scraping the site with AI or data-mining tools is now banned. The long DMCA copyright section was replaced with a link to a separate page. Two changes actually favor users: T-Mobile can now cut off your Site access only if it thinks you broke the rules (before it was 'any time, without notice'), and it dropped two very broad catch-all content bans.

Changes that may affect you

More rules about what you can post, including an AI disclosure dutyMATERIAL
USER OBLIGATIONS

The list of banned content grew. You now also cannot post content that is offensive or harassing, that breaks laws like consumer protection or false advertising, that states something you know is false, or that was made with AI in a misleading way without saying so. The AI rule is the biggest practical change: if you use AI to write or edit a review or forum post and not disclosing that would mislead people, you are breaking these terms. Breaking them can cost you access to the Site.

has been generated or materially modified using artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies in a manner that is misleading or deceptive, including by failing to clearly disclose the use of such technologies where disclosure is necessary to avoid misleading others; or

What you can do — If you use AI to help write reviews or forum posts on T-Mobile sites, say so in the post.

T-Mobile can take down your posts at its own callMINOR
TERMINATION

A new sentence lets T-Mobile remove or refuse to publish anything you submit that it decides breaks these rules. There is no appeal process described and no promise to tell you why. Your post can disappear without warning.

T-Mobile reserves the right to remove or decline to post Submissions that violate these Terms of Use.

What you can do — Keep your own copy of any review or post you care about; do not rely on T-Mobile's site to store it.

Using AI or data-mining tools on the site is now bannedMINOR
USER OBLIGATIONS

The rule against automated copying of site content now names AI tools and data-mining tools specifically. If you feed T-Mobile pages into an AI tool or use software to pull plan and pricing data for comparison, that is now clearly against the rules.

access, monitor, or copy any content or information on the Site using any robot, spider, scraper, artificial intelligence tool, data-mining tool, or other automated means or any manual process;
Copyright takedown steps moved off this pageMINOR
OTHER

The detailed instructions for filing a copyright complaint — and for pushing back if your own content was taken down by mistake — are no longer written out here. They now live on a separate T-Mobile page. Your legal rights under federal copyright law have not changed, but the steps are one click further away.

**DMCA Notice.** Our DMCA notice procedure is described at:

What you can do — If your content is ever removed over a copyright claim, check T-Mobile's copyright page at t-mobile.com/responsibility/legal/copyright for the procedures, or contact the Copyright Agent listed in the terms at copyrightagent@t-mobile.com.

Changelog

  1. ± CHANGEDEffective date jumps from 2013 to 2026

    These terms had not been updated in over twelve years. The new version took effect August 18, 2026.

    Effective as of December 27, 2013

    Effective as of August 18, 2026

  2. ± CHANGEDIntro now points existing customers to the arbitration agreement

    The opening paragraph now says that if you are already a T-Mobile customer, you are already bound by T-Mobile's separate Terms and Conditions, 'including the arbitration agreement.' This is a pointer to a rule that lives in another document, not a new arbitration rule added here.

    If you are a T‑Mobile customer, you are also bound by the T‑Mobile Terms and Conditions and any other terms that apply to your plan or service.

    If you are an existing T‑Mobile customer, you are already bound by the applicable [T‑Mobile Terms and Conditions](https://www.t-mobile.com/responsibility/legal/terms-and-conditions), including the arbitration agreement, and any other terms that apply to your plan or service.

  3. ± CHANGEDT-Mobile narrowed when it can cut off your Site access

    Before, T-Mobile could end your access to the website at any time, for any reason, with no notice. Now it can only do that if it has reason to believe you broke these rules. This is a change in your favor. Note that other parts of the terms still let T-Mobile suspend your account for security reasons or incomplete registration info.

    We also reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate your access to the Site, or any portion thereof, at any time, without notice.

    We may terminate your access to the Site, or any portion thereof, without notice, if we have reason to believe that you have violated these Terms of Use.

  4. ± CHANGEDScraping ban now names AI and data-mining tools

    The rule against using bots to copy site content now specifically lists artificial intelligence tools and data-mining tools.

    access, monitor or copy any content or information on the Site using any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means or any manual process;

    access, monitor, or copy any content or information on the Site using any robot, spider, scraper, artificial intelligence tool, data-mining tool, or other automated means or any manual process;

  5. + ADDEDT-Mobile can remove or refuse to post your content

    A new sentence says T-Mobile can take down or refuse to publish anything you submit that it believes breaks these rules.

    T-Mobile reserves the right to remove or decline to post Submissions that violate these Terms of Use.

  6. ± CHANGEDContent rules moved into their own section and expanded

    The list of what you cannot post is now its own 'Submission Content' section. New items: content that is racially or religiously biased, offensive, or harassing; content that breaks export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination, or false advertising laws; and statements of fact you know are false or misleading.

    any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or other material or content that is otherwise objectionable to us in our sole discretion;

    concerns an individual or group of individuals and is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, racially or religiously biased, offensive, or harassing;

  7. + ADDEDNew rule about AI-generated content

    You may not post content made or heavily edited with AI in a way that misleads people, including by not saying you used AI when saying so would be needed to avoid misleading others.

    has been generated or materially modified using artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies in a manner that is misleading or deceptive, including by failing to clearly disclose the use of such technologies where disclosure is necessary to avoid misleading others; or

  8. − REMOVEDTwo very broad content bans dropped

    T-Mobile removed the catch-all letting it reject anything 'otherwise objectionable to us in our sole discretion,' and the ban on anything that could harm T-Mobile's business or reputation. Both were open-ended and their removal favors users.

    any material that could harm T‑Mobile's business, reputation, employees, subscribers, facilities, or any person;

  9. ± CHANGEDDetailed DMCA instructions replaced by a link

    The full step-by-step copyright takedown and counter-notice instructions were removed from this page. Now there is a short paragraph pointing to a separate copyright page, plus the agent's contact details. The rules themselves come from federal law and have not changed, but you now have to visit another page to read the steps.

    **Claims of Copyright Infringement/DMCA Notices.** T‑Mobile respects the Intellectual Property Rights of others and is committed to complying with U.S. Copyright laws.

    **DMCA Notice.** Our DMCA notice procedure is described at:

  10. ± CHANGEDCopyright repeat-infringer rule narrowed, and 'limit' added as an option

    Before, T-Mobile could act against anyone it judged a 'repeat or blatant' infringer — either one was enough on its own. Now only 'repeat' infringement triggers it, so a single blatant incident no longer counts. T-Mobile also added 'limit' as a middle option next to suspending or terminating service. On balance this is neutral to slightly better for users.

    It is T‑Mobile's policy, in appropriate circumstances and in its sole judgment, to suspend or terminate the Service of any subscriber, account holder, or user who is deemed to be a repeat or blatant infringer of copyrights.

    It is our policy, in appropriate circumstances and in our sole judgment, to limit, suspend, or terminate the Service of any subscriber, account holder, or user who is deemed to be a repeat infringer of copyrights.

  11. ± CHANGEDWording cleanups throughout

    Many small edits: 'web site' to 'website', 'user name' to 'username', added commas, and 'third party' to 'third-party'. These do not change what the terms mean.

    Some parts of the Site may require a user name, account name or password.

    Some parts of the Site may require a username, account name, or password.
