If you are between 13 and 17, using Scribd now breaks the rules. That puts existing teen accounts in violation, which can lead to the account being shut down. Parents who set up accounts for their kids may also be affected. The terms do not say what happens to an existing teen account, whether any unused subscription time gets refunded, or whether saved library items and notes can be exported first.
“Use the Services if You are under 18 years of age.”
What you can do — If you or your child is under 18 with a Scribd account, download or export anything you want to keep and cancel any paid subscription before renewal to avoid being charged for a service you can no longer use. If you were recently charged, contact Scribd support to ask about a refund.
