Sage Publications Privacy Policy changes — first seen 2026-09-04 (MINOR)

What changed, in plain language

Sage added a new section saying it may use artificial intelligence to help run its products, services, and business — including content review, analysis, search, and customer support — and that personal data processed by AI will be protected with safeguards under existing data protection law. The only other changes are cosmetic: an email address was added for Sage's EU privacy representative, and some headings and spacing were tidied up. No new data collection, sharing, retention, or user obligations were added.

It is written broadly — 'support and improve our products, services, and business operations' covers a lot — and the policy does not name the AI tools, say whether outside AI providers get your data, or state whether your data can be used to train AI models. On the other hand, it does not add any new data collection, and Sage promises safeguards and says it will follow data protection and AI transparency laws. The practical risk today is small, but the wording leaves Sage room to expand AI use later without changing this policy.
