Before, a backorder got you into one auction. Now, if that auction's winner doesn't pay, your backorder is automatically thrown into the new auction as a binding bid — even weeks later and even if you've moved on or no longer want the domain. Nobody has to ask you or notify you. If you end up the highest bidder, you owe the money, and DropCatch will automatically try to pull it from your NameBright balance or the card on file. If you don't pay, both your DropCatch and NameBright accounts get suspended indefinitely. There is no stated way to opt out of the re-auction once your backorder was placed.
“all backorders placed on that domain prior to the start of the original auction will be entered into the re-auction as binding bids at the applicable backorder price, without any further action required by the customers who placed them”
What you can do — Check any backorders you've placed on domains that went to auction but didn't sell, and contact support@dropcatch.com to cancel ones you no longer want. Also make sure the card on file and your NameBright balance reflect only what you're actually willing to spend, since payment attempts happen automatically.
